Frequently Asked Questions

Counselling helps you manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviour. You may experience anxiety, depression, or worries about various life issues, such as relationships, family concerns, the loss of a loved one, or fears about the future. Counselling addresses these challenges and offers positive coping strategies, providing a fresh perspective on your life and encouraging healthier ways of thinking and living. Prue works with you to establish your therapeutic goals, completes an assessment and plan which fits within your timelines and aspirations.
-
Counselling and psychotherapy are similar forms of "talk therapy." Psychotherapy helps you understand how past experiences and personality shape your current thoughts and behaviours. In contrast, counselling focusses on any specific challenges you may be facing and helps you find more fulfilling ways of living. It can provide you with healthier coping strategies to help you navigate any challenges and instigate positive change.
